Bought for my friend who is obsessed with Katya – and it’s such good lipstick. She wore all over the place and it looks great on her. Easy application and long lasting – gorgeous color.
I bought this for a special night out and it made me feel glamorous all evening. Not my usual choice of color but it was definitely perfect for what I needed.
I was looking for a classic red lipstick of good quality and originally ordered a best seller – Ruby Woo – which received rave reviews. It is a good lipstick but on the orange side, so not flattering for my complexion. Russian Red is a true classic red – not too orange and not too blue. Perfect. I don’t know what is meant by “sheer”, so I gave it 3 stars – the color is opaque, the texture moist, but stays on well.
I can’t say enough good things about this MAC color, Russian Red. I’m olive skinned w/yellow undertones and colors tend to “pull” orange on me.But this has blue undertones (remember that, I’m learning), therefore, it stays a cool red without any tint of orange. Can’t beat this price, and it’s a FULL SIZE tube.Love it!
The item was in the box, it seemed like it may have been opened prior the lipstick itself didn’t look perfectly smooth, but maybe heat effected it in delivery.
This lipstick jumped out at me from Khloe Kardashian’s face. Rarely, if ever do I care what the Kardashian ladies wear, but I was entranced by Khloe’s red lips and Googled to find out where oh where could I rock some red lips llke that?? Found out it was Russian Red and Amazon’d myself a tube. It didn’t disappoint. Gorgeous red like the bloodiest red you’ve ever seen. I’m African-American so it worked as well on me as it did on her. Be aware that it will dominate your face. So, if you’re not a ‘lips-centric’ girl like me, this red puts the focus right on your mouth. Also, the consistency is not like the department store brands. All you need is to swab it on once. It goes on smoothly in one coat. I’ve NEVER applied just one coat of a red lipstick before. To make it uniform, you always have to ‘play’ with it by dabbing here and there, adding a coat, blotting a coat. Not with this lipstick. You definitely pay more than dept store/grocery store/CVS/Walmart, but it’s worth every penny if you want to rock some REAL red lips.
I rarely write reviews, but absolutely had to on this one. A few reasons… #1, lipstick was here within 24 hrs of purchase! Crazy bonkers!!! #2, the lipstick was indeed fullsized. Don’t let other reviews scare you. #3, I have another of the lipstick (it is the same exact brand, color name and #, etc…), this IS not a knockoff. #4, the color is gorgeous (and your teeth will look super white, lol). #5, longevity is insane. So in all, definitely order! Worth skipping the buying of the 3 lattes this week. 😉
I get sooooooooo many compliments whenever I wear this color. It also stays on long and doesn’t dry out my lips!
