Welcome to my little corner of the internet where makeup meets ministry, and whimsy meets wisdom. I’m thrilled you’re here! Let me tell you a little about the person behind the brushes, the books, and the podcast.
I’m Wendy Merritt—a woman with a heart full of Jesus, a head brimming with colorful ideas (and often colorful hair), and hands always ready to create. My life is a vibrant blend of faith, family, fun, and creativity, and I’m so glad you’re along for the ride!
My Story
I’ve been walking with Jesus since the second grade, and His love has been my foundation through every season of life. I’m a proud mom to two incredible daughters, who have blessed me with their wonderful families and three precious grandchildren. Watching my grandkids grow is one of life’s greatest joys, and they never fail to inspire me.
As a widow, I’ve navigated life’s ups and downs with faith as my anchor. God has been my constant source of strength, and serving Him has given my life purpose and joy.
Growing up as a Navy brat, I had the privilege of traveling the world—a colorful journey that eventually brought me to Texas, where I’ve planted my roots and built a life I love.
Faith Meets Fun
I’ll be honest—I’m not great at memorizing scripture. But instead of letting that hold me back, I decided to turn it into an opportunity. That’s how A Little Bit of Makeup & A Whole Lot of Jesus was born! My podcast combines full-face makeup tutorials with the challenge of scripture memory. Together, we blend glam and grace, one Bible verse at a time.
My foundation verse? It’s Psalm 119:11:
“I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
This verse is my guiding light, reminding me of the power of God’s word in shaping our lives—and, of course, it pairs perfectly with a shimmery eyeshadow look.
Passions & Pastimes
When I’m not podcasting or spending time with my family, you can find me:

🌸 Playing with my dogs, Phoebe and Wesley 🐾
🌸 Gardening and enjoying the serenity of my koi pond
🌸 Singing in church or volunteering on the production team
🌸 Leading my church’s singles group and planning fun activities
🌸 Serving on mission trips and sharing God’s love wherever I go
🌸 Writing books under my publishing company, Imagine-Believe-Achieve
Speaking of books, I’ve written Color Me James: A Spirited Exploration of Faith and Memory and the beloved children’s story The Littles & The Friendship Bracelets. Both have been incredible opportunities to share my faith and creativity.
